Cross channel ferries are close to memorable celebrations

Antwerp could provide the ideal New Year"s Eve location, according to one newspaper, which may interest people considering taking cross channel ferries.The Observer stated that in Antwerp visitors can celebrate the noughties by enjoying a local beer with other revellers and even take a boat trip to watch the fireworks as the bells strike midnight.
"After a beer or two with the locals, who congregate in the Grote Markt to down glasses of De Koninck in traditional bars such as Den Engel, escape to the reclaimed docks for dinner," it reported.
The newspaper added that visitors can watch the fireworks launch from the river Schelde and even finish up at the Dead Celebrity Ball at the Magiq Speigeltent.
Fans of songs such as Tiny Dancer, Your Song and Crocodile Rock staying in Antwerphave recently been able to see Elton John perform those and other hits when he brought his latest tour to the Belgian city.
