People taking cross channel ferries are close to a historic town that has witnessed some amazing events which could interest visitors, according to one website.TipsFromThetList.com reported that Rouen is a busy destination that saw significant cultural events like the burning of Joan of Arc at the stake, which might be of curiosity to history buffs visiting the location.
"Situated on the river Seine, the city of Rouen was once one of the largest and most prosperous cities of medieval Europe," it stated.
The destination was also the base for an Anglo-Norman dynasty which ruled England and large parts of northern France in medieval times.
