Cross channel ferries: Close to varied skiing options
01.12.2009
People taking cross channel ferries are near to ski resorts which give winter sports fans of all abilities the chance to experience fun on the slopes, according to one publication. The Independent reported that France has great purpose-built resorts dating back to the 60s and 70s as well as newer facilities which it said are just as convenient as their older counterparts.
"France"s lift system, already the envy of other skiing countries, continues to attract heavy investment [... it was recently] calculated that in the unlikely event of all the country"s lifts being laid end to end they could connect Paris with Cairo," it stated.
The newspaper added that France has seen off competition from around Europe and is still the premier destination for skiers, primarily because of its excellent slopes.
France saw around 20 inches of snow fall across the Alps recently and people taking cross channel ferries can expect to be greeted by well-covered runs.
