Cross channel ferries: Paris offers much more than the Eiffel Tower
04.03.2010
People taking cross channel ferries can visit a French city which offers much more than the landmark that it is most famous for, according to one expert.Veronique Potelet Anty, of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, said that when people come to Paris they are draw to the Eiffel Tower, but she advised them to look further afield.
"For those that come for the first time, obviously they want to see the Eiffel Tower and the main attractions, but for those who have come to Paris a few times, there are really good offerings," she stated.
The expert added that there are more than 140 museums in Paris and she believes most people only ever venture to a tiny part of the city.
In other news, the Eiffel Tower was recently covered in hundreds of LED lights as part of a show which lit up the structure three times a day in the build-up to the new year.
