Ferries to Dunkerque near to unique region
25.01.2010
Holidaymakers taking ferries to Dunkerque are close to a region which is near to a plethora of events and attractions, according to one newspaper. The Guardian told readers that there are more options for vacationers to enjoy than they might expect, with a lot of attractive towns in close proximity to the north of France.
"A good plan would be a couple of days in Rouen, then to Honfleur and Caen, which have excellent galleries, and a night in one smaller location, such as Saint-Lô. Giverny and other small towns are easy outings from the bigger places," it stated.
The newspaper advised people to check out Monet"s garden and the impressionist festival, which takes place in the region this summer and is the first ever event dedicated to the movement.
Travel journalist Rhiannon Batten recently wrote in the Independent about the number of people streaming through Flanders and missing out on the beauty that the region has to offer, such as the area"s white sand beaches.
