Ferries to France can transport people to 'perfect' ski resort
18.03.2010
People taking ferries to france are close to one of the most reliable ski resorts in Europe, after one newspaper said it can provide visitors with quality runs almost all year round. The Guardian placed the Val Thorens resort in its top ten of European skiing destinations and praised the fact that visitors are given a free lift pass if less than 70 per cent of the ski lifts are working.
"At 2,300m, this car-free, purpose-built resort is the highest in Europe, with more than 140km of its pistes above 3,000m. With most of these north-facing, it is unrivalled for late season snow," it stated.
The newspaper added that Val Thorens is part of the vast Trois Vallées ski area and it predicted conditions would be perfect for those hitting the slopes at the end of April.
Ian Bradley, spokesperson for AITO, recently said that people taking ferries to France to go on holiday need to ensure they are insured in case something untoward occurs.
