Ferries to France near to great ski runs
16.11.2009
People taking ferries to france are near to ski resorts which are almost guaranteed to have a good covering of snow every year, according to one expert. The Times"s Tom Chesshyre reported that Tignes and Les Deux Alpes in France can be relied on to provide a covering of snow even in the face of global warming.
Writing about Tignes, he stated: "There was snow aplenty on Tignes" glacier, which is reached via a wonderfully fast seven-minute funicular. I could hardly believe it. The snow is so good -so "sure" - at Tignes that you can ski all year round."
The writer added that the high altitude locations of the French resorts means that a good covering of snow is almost guaranteed for winter sports fans who visit.
Post Office Travel Service"s annual Ski Resort Report recently showed that many top ski resorts in Europe are reducing the cost of hiring ski kit and other items in order to remain competitive.
