Ferries to France near to impressionist's favourite destination
04.01.2010
One of Britain"s best-known impressionists and self-confessed Francophiles has spoken about his love for holidays in France, which he said is his favourite place to take a break.Alistair McGowan told the Guardian that he enjoyed his time in Limousin, which is in the centre of France, and took particular pleasure from the slower pace of life that can be experienced there.
He told the newspaper: "A friend suggested investigating the Limousin, an area bang in the centre of France. It"s rural and basic, a completely different, almost forgotten side of France."
The comedian, who is famous for doing impressions of people like Mark Lawrenson and Robert Kilroy Silk, added that he is in love with all things French.
In other news, the Exeter Express and Echo commented on the picturesque beauty of Brittany and said that it is an easily accessible area, especially via ferry from the south coast of England.
