Ferries to France take people close to nature
07.12.2009
People taking ferries to Dunkerque will be close to resorts which have their fair share of wildlife and natural beauty, according to one newspaper. The Daily Telegraph reported on the fun that visitors can have while trekking in the Chamonix Valley and other areas in the north of the country.
"Trek softly through off-piste, knee-deep snow on a pair of snowshoes and you"re more likely to encounter wildlife than if you"re hurtling down a manicured slope on skis," the newspaper reported.
It added that people could very likely see chamois or even the shy ibex which are known to inhabit the region.
The Times" Tom Chesshyre recently reported on Tignes and Les Deux Alpes in France and said the two resorts can be relied on to provide a covering of snow even in the face of global warming.
