Ferries to France: Close to great river tour
03.12.2009
People taking ferries to france could continue into Germany and take a trip down one of the world"s most beautiful rivers, according to one newspaper which said that visitors can view castles when on a trip. The Daily Telegraph reported that the Rhine has a great variety of tours available to visitors and takes them past some great sights along the river.
"After sampling a pinot gris, a pinot noir, a region-specific Klevener de Heiligenstein and a fine gewürztraminer, we wound back to port via the medieval city of Obernai, filled with half-timbered gingerbread houses that looked good enough to eat," it stated.
The newspaper added that the Rhine-Gorge will be the highlight of most people"s trip to the German river.
People visiting Germany this winter may be able to sample some of the country"s wines after the vineyards had a bumper yield this season.
