Ferries to France: Languedoc offers breathtaking breaks
15.02.2010
Holidaymakers taking cross channel ferries are close to a region which is breathtaking, according to one novelist, who said that she has loved the gorgeous villages in the area since she first visited them.Kate Mosse told the Observer that she has had an affinity with Languedoc which has lasted for more than two decades.
"Under an endless blue sky, we took the mountain road into the Pyrenees. The temperature began to drop as we climbed higher, higher. Sleet turned to hail. By the time we arrived at Montségur, snow was hitting the windscreen and visibility was low," she stated.
The expert added that she enjoyed great food and drink when she visited the area with her husband and baby daughter back in the early 90s.
In other news, the Times recently reported on the fun which can be had on a weekend away in Marseillan, which is to the west of Montpellier and has been dubbed the new St Tropez by some travel experts.
