People planning ferry trips to France are going to be influenced by major sporting events in the coming year when deciding where to end up, according to one expert.Jonathan Cudworth, a travel market expert, said the travel calendar for the majority of next year will be dominated by events like the 2010 World Cup and Six Nations Rugby tournament.
He said: "Europe is also expected to see a resurgence as holidaymakers return to the eurozone. Looking at next year though it is great deals that will still be popular, with some real bargains available."
The expert added that the recovery in the travel industry will begin to happen in 2010 as more vacationers refuse to sacrifice their summer holiday despite the recession.
