10.12.2009
People taking ferries to france are close to a museum which pays homage to the surrealist painters who produced works which went on to influence contemporary artists, according to one newspaper. The Musée Magritte in Brussels is dedicated to the work of René Magritte who produced pieces from the 1920s to the 1960s and is a well-respected surrealist, the Telegraph reported.
"Curators have included a detailed context of photographs, notes, letters, sketches and examples of the advertisements and posters that sustained the artist as he struggled to sell paintings in the early part of his career," it stated.
The nearby Brussels Beaux Arts Museum moved its collection of Magrittes from the rather gloomy concrete basement galleries to the newly renovated floors of the neoclassical building above.
In other art news, the Daily Telegraph recently reported that the Picasso Museum in Antibes is going to be the venue for the exhibitions which celebrate the artist"s work and life.
