People taking a ferry trip to France next month might want to head towards Paris for a variety of photography events in the city. The Paris Month of Photography was created 20 years ago to raise the profile of the medium and set its status as an art form.
It takes place as part of the European Month of Photography, which also sees events happening in Berlin, Bratislava, Luxembourg, Moscow, Rome and Vienna.
This year"s theme is European Photography, between tradition and transformation.
Exhibits and displays have been created to discuss the new technologies in the production and display of images and what the consequences are for artists.
They will also question whether European photography has an identity and stimulate reflection on current practices.
Hundreds of photographers will be expressing themselves through their exhibits, with artists from the Atlantic to the Urals and Riga to Istanbul set to take part.
