French skiing is still the top draw
23.10.2009
People taking ferries to france will be in a country which has some of the best skiing facilities in the world that offer something for everyone regardless of ability, according to one expert.Al Morgan, information manager at the Ski Club of Great Britain, said that France is still the most popular skiing resort in Europe and is beating competition from places like America and Canada.
"We feel that the decline in people taking wintersports holidays may have been greater if the snow hadn"t been as good as last season. France continues to dominate the market with a 43 per cent share which is equal to last year," he said.
The expert added that the good snowfall which has been seen over the last two seasons could encourage more people to hit the French slopes.
Tim Holmes, show manager of the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, recently said that people skiing in France can experience the "alpine charm" of the country"s snow-covered peaks.
