22.10.2009
People taking ferry trips to Dunkerque may want to continue their journey down to Lille where there will be a Christmas market which organisers say is an ideal place to do some yuletide shopping. The market is based in the centre of the city and will run from the 18th November to 30th December, with attractions such as art and food from Russia, Poland, and Québec on display.
Noel-a-Lille.com stated: "In the heart of winter, Lille sparkles and glows with joie de vivre! With the wave of a magic wand, the city takes on a festive atmosphere and welcomes you to a winter wonderland."
The events website added that the city also has nearly 4,000 shops for visitors to investigate and perhaps buy their Christmas gifts from.
In other news, the NAME music festival was recently held in Lille with French acts and djs such as Krazy Baldhead and Feadz playing house music to revellers.
