Sporting treats in Belgium

31.03.2009
Holidaymakers keen to catch some top sporting entertainment should head to Belgium this year.

Football fans tired of the Premier League can enjoy the thrilling climax to the country"s Jupiler division.

With just nine games left to play the title is still very much up-for-grabs, with the nation"s superpower Anderlecht just two points clear of Standard Liege.

Plenty more twists and turns are expected before the final day of the season on May 16th, meaning that Brits making the trip to Belgium will be sure to see some action-packed, drama-filled football.

If soccer is not your sport, there is plenty more going on in the coming months.

The Tour de France will pass through Belgium in July as part of the Dunkirk to Gand phases of the race.

Meanwhile, on August 30th the Belgian Grand Prix will be sure to offer up plenty of thrills and spills for race fans, not least for those cheering on Britons Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton.ADNFCR-1871-ID-19100481-ADNFCR
