11.06.2009
If you have ever wondered how the lives of the Monarchs around the world compare to our own, then a ferry trip to Belgium may well be in order.Visitors making this trip can head to the Palace of Brussels, where the country"s king carries out his official duties.
The beautiful building, which is opposite the Royal Park, has a breath-taking feel to it which will rival the feeling of awe associated with Buckingham Palace.
Not only can Brits taking the ferry to Belgium have a look at the outside of the palace, between July and September they can even take a peek inside.
During the summer months the building, which is now predominately used for official business and state functions, throws its doors open to the public.
While inside holidaymakers will be able to see the throne room, the array of artwork that hangs from the walls and the empire room, as they nose around hoping to catch the odd glimpse of a Belgian royal.
After making the ferry trip to Belgium, tourists may also want to visit the country"s Royal Museum of Fine Art.
