Brussels film gathering on the way

Movie fans may want to book their ferry to Belgium early as a major event approaches.The Brussels European Film Festival will showcase the latest in industry talent from around the continent when it takes place from June 27th until July 5th in Flagey.
According to the exhibition"s website, the distinctive feature of the renowned event is the attention given to budding stars, with the first and second pictures produced by directors given extensive attention.
Meanwhile, independent filmmakers are also welcomed, with those interested in showcasing their work at the festival given until May 1st to send in their movie for consideration.
The proceedings end with a succession of awards, with last year"s winners including Ruben Ostlund"s Involuntary, which picked up the Irish gong for best picture, and Polina Philonenko, Agnia Kuznetsova and Olga Shuvalova who were all recognised for their acting.
Holidaymakers who like to express themselves through music rather than film may be interested in a ferry to Holland later this year to catch the Pinkpop festival.
