Chocolate is 'Belgium's specialty'
19.11.2008
Some of the world"s best-quality chocolate is available in Belgium, one thing a person can definitely count on when visiting the country, according to a national newspaper. The work of master chocolatier Jean Galler was assessed by the Daily Mail, which used his life as a case in point for the recommendation of the country"s cocoa-based offerings.
Jean Galler moved into the chocolate trade at the age of 21, where he came up with the idea of a combined restaurant, cafe and chocolatier, carrying on his family"s tradition since working in his grandfather"s confectionery shop from a tender age.
The news provider said that Jean is one of many people in the country who provides ferry travellers from the UK with the finest choice of chocolate, now continuing the family name with his Galler Chocolates brand based across Europe.
Dutch people, however, are brought up on an altogether different treat, according to Agence France-Presse: drop, which it described as the "black and chewy, often salty candy that turns most foreigners" stomachs".
