Cross channel ferries: Belgium offers unique parties
04.12.2009
Those taking cross channel ferries can visit a city of Belgium which provides visitors the opportunity to experience different cultures and traditions, according to a website.JTA.com said Antwerp allows people to visit a city that was built to be a feast to the eyes rather than just functional.
Speaking about the city's train station it stated, "Four levels of subterranean platforms emerge into a soaring atrium covering a station built in the typical European style. Above an ornate façade, "Antwerpen" is engraved in gold letters, evoking nothing so much as a cathedral of transportation."
The website also added that unlike Brussels, which has "soulless" architecture, Antwerp has interesting buildings which are well worth checking out.
For travellers who want to have a shop while on a break in Antwerp, the city is full of trendy boutiques which feel like Carnaby Street, Covent Garden and Bond Street rolled into one, according to the Guardian.
