06.11.2009
Belgium is one of the most popular destinations for those planning cross channel trips to get their Christmas shopping done, a source said.Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, claims that many European destinations manage to attract visitors during the Christmas months through their seasonal markets.
He says, those taking cross channel trips to Belgium will be able to enjoy Brussels large festive market and ice-skating rink, making the most of both the shopping possibilities and the opportunity to take part in a fun, festive activity.
Mr. Hall further adds that numerous cities reachable by cross channel ferries have their own Christmas markets, which can be found on the street corners throughout their towns.
People who are looking for a more conventional shopping destination this Christmas could follow the Independent''s advice and visit Paris.
It lists this in its top suggestions for overseas trips to help people prepare for the Christmas break, which could lead people to take a cross channel ferry to the city.
