Europeans 'note road dangers'

British motorists feel safer when behind the wheel than their European counterparts, the latest research has found.The Road Behaviour Survey, which also questioned people from countries such as Belgium, claimed UK drivers have faith in their fellow road-users.
According to the AXA study, 92 per cent of Brits asked feel safe on the nation"s highways.
This was far higher than the European average of 72 per cent, it may interest those planning on ferry trips to Belgium to learn.
Britons also stated they feel they are better behind the wheel than their foreign counterparts, with 64 per cent claiming this is the case.
Elsewhere in the research, Europeans noted the potential danger of using hands free systems while on the road, with 85 per cent saying this could be a risk.
Meanwhile, 90 per cent asserted driving at speed just a few meters behind a vehicle is also a hazard.
Recently, it was claimed by Bob Atkinson, travel expert at travelsupermarket, tourists want the latest technology in hotels when they make journeys abroad, such as ferry trips to Belgium.
