Fine art fans may want to make the three-hour drive to Belgium from Dunkerque, with the 54th Brussels Antiques and Fine Arts Fair bringing together artists and critics from around the world. The art spectacular will host 130 participants, with 60 per cent of them domestic as well as others from different areas of Europe including England, France, Italy, Switzerland and Monaco.
It will specialise in Oriental, tribal and Oceanic art as well as ceramics, earthenware and contemporary art.
Potential holidaymakers could see the large halls of the Thurn & Taxis mail sorting station which is to host the event in the centre of Brussels, with the building being described as "a wonderful example of the Belgian industrial architectural heritage" by event organisers.
Lonely Planet described the Belgian capital as "sumptuous, historic and luxuriously cosy", adding that the smell of hot waffles during the winter is what makes the city special.
