Summer breaks in Belgium
05.01.2009
While the UK is in the middle of a traditionally chilly winter, Britons may wish to consider a summer ferry trip to Belgium to give themselves something to look forward to.During the warmer months Antwerp stages its annual festival, which includes a variety of entertainment for visitors.
Among the attractions are art installations, dance performances, musical concerts and movie showings.
The festival runs through June, July and August, with many of the events being free to enter.
Zon van Antwerpen, as the period is known to local residents, "pops up in the most unexpected places... and can be felt throughout the city", according to its website.
Brits visiting Belgium in August may also be interested in visiting the Boterhammen in het Park, or Sandwiches in the Park, show which is free for spectators and involves an array of musical performances from numerous genres being put on throughout the day.
