Ferries to Dunkerque: People are inclined to holiday abroad
16.02.2010
After last year"s staycation craze more people are going to try and get abroad this year, possibly by using ferries to Dunkerque, according to one expert.Ian Bradley, spokesperson for the Association of Independent Tour Operators, said that because of the improving exchange rate, UK holidaymakers are more inclined to take a break in Europe.
"Europe is once again more attractive with the sterling/euro exchange rate becoming more encouraging and it"s the same story with the USA," he claimed.
Mr Bradley added that as the recession eases more people are looking to take holidays abroad and feel confident enough in their own finances to do so.
Flanders maybe one place UK vacationers visit and it is a region that has plenty of activities nearby as well as beautiful medieval architecture, according to Reuters, which said that Ghent in particular has lots of cultural treats for visitors to enjoy.
