Winemakers in France 'using satellite technology'

12.08.2009
Brits heading on a ferry to france to sample the finest beverages produced in the country may find that these are being created with the help of satellite technology, according to a source.

Boris Cambreleng, writing for Agent Presse France, commented that French winegrowers are increasingly using imaging equipment to boost their harvests.

He said that these systems can enable winemakers to analyse grapes, determining when they are ready to be turned into gorgeous drinks that people flock from all over the world over to taste.

Stephen Carrier, a user of this technology, told the news provider that he is obtaining years of information by deploying this equipment.

He said: "Rather than waiting years and then being able to say "Ah, I know my plots of land," I have a tool that I can pass down."

Those keen to taste the latest crop of French wines and champagne may want to take a trip to Rheims and Epernay.

Here they will find numerous vineyards and cellars devoted to these drinks, including those which produce the world famous Moet et Chandon.ADNFCR-1871-ID-19309629-ADNFCR
