People taking their families to France via ferry will be able to dodge the disappointment of not going to Disneyland, after planes were grounded due to the severely cold weather. The Liverpool Echo stated that cancellations at the city"s John Lennon Airport had left Savina Rice, 11 and her 13-year-old cousin Jack upset that they could not make the trip over the channel to spend time at the popular theme park.
It reported: "Two children who hoped to visit Mickey Mouse at Disneyland Paris were among the thousands stranded at Liverpools John Lennon Airport due to the bad weather."
The children"s mother Julie added that the pair were very disappointed at not being able to make the trip to see their favourite characters like Mickey Mouse.
Business Week recently stated that since the park opened in 1992, people have flocked to the attraction and helped it contribute 56,000 jobs to the local communities and pump 6.5 billion into the French economy.
