Ferries to Dunkerque: Disneyland has helped French economy

People taking ferries to Dunkerque are close to a theme park which is one of the largest tourist attractions in France and has helped support the country"s economy, according to one publication.

Business Week stated that since it opened in 1992 people have flocked to the attraction and helped it contribute 56,000 jobs to the local communities and pumped €6.5 billion into the French economy.

Daniel Canepa, head of the French government organisation that monitors Disneyland Paris, told the publication that the resort is "the number one tourist destination in Europe."

The magazine added that foreign visitors to the attraction made up around 3.6 million of the total number who tried out rides like Space Mountain.

People taking ferries to france will be able to avoid the disruption caused by the 11 days of strikes by British Airways staff which was described as a "disaster" for the company by Bob Atkinson, a tourism expert from TravelSupermarket.com.
