People taking cross channel ferries are near to an event which will provide people with a unique experience and a few laughs as well, according to one newspaper.

The Times reported on the Fete de la Saint Louis, which is a festival held in the north of France in August, and includes the bizarre sport of water jousting.

"Ever heard of water jousting? Find out what this wacky sport is all about down in Sete, Languedoc"s little Venice. As well as six days of feasts and shows, the Fete de la Saint Louis includes the final of the season’s jousting festival," it stated.

The sport sees teams of eight people duel until one person has been knocked off their perch.

Brittany also offers some amazing coastlines that span around 750 miles and has stunning views, according the Herald newspaper, which recently reported that the rugged rocks and towering cliffs are magnificent.
