Cross channel ferries: Germany proving popular for city breaks

One of the most famous cities in Europe is proving to be a popular destination for people taking city breaks this year, according to one expert.Berlin is attracting hoards of holidaymakers because of its good value for money, said Jonathan Cudworth, director of product management at Expedia Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He added: "We are seeing strong growth in places like Berlin. It is a western European city but with eastern European prices. They are definitely on the up as customers look for places where their money goes further."
People taking ferries to france may want to continue their trip into Germany and pay a visit to the city which is currently celebrating the anniversary of the Berlin Wall being torn down.
Berlin has recently played host to an exhibition about the Bauhaus movement, which may have interested culturally astute holidaymakers who wanted to learn about the city"s creative past.
