Elephants ready for Amsterdam parade

Holidaymakers keen to support a worthy cause while seeing one of Amsterdam"s more surreal sights will want to take a ferry to Holland next month.In September pink elephants will parade through the city"s streets, creating a spectacle which will not be quickly forgotten.
These artificial animals are the work of Marc and Mike Spits, with the aim being to raise awareness on the conservation of elephants in Asia.
The creatures will be paraded through Amsterdam through to October, with various renowned artists putting their creative stamp on each one.
Lovers of this event may also want to take the ferry to Holland for the Sculpture Route, which all kinds of artwork being placed in the south of Amsterdam.
It runs from August 16th until October 26th and sees Roberto Meyer and Michiel Romeyn choose numerous pieces to be displayed on the streets of the city.
Those taking the ferry to Amsterdam this year may also want to visit renowned attractions such as the van Gogh museum and Anne Frank"s house.
