Ferries to Dunkerque in touching distance from slopes
16.12.2009
Ski enthusiasts taking ferries to Dunkerque can access a range of resorts from the north of France, such as Courmayeur, which one newspaper said is a challenge for people of all abilities. The Daily Telegraph reported that the region is quite small but has an interesting variety of slopes for skiers to choose from, such as the off-piste Cresta d"Arp runs.
"Most people follow the sun over to the north-west-facing slopes towards Val Veny in the afternoon. These are interesting, varied and treelined, with great views of Mont Blanc and its glaciers," the newspaper stated.
It added that the Val Veny slopes are another area of Courmayeur which is worth a visit and people taking ferries to Dunkerque can investigate for themselves.
The New Zealand Herald recently praised La Cote D"Amour in northern France and said that the beach at La Baule is considered one of the best in Europe, stretching for around eight kilometres.
