Ferries to Dunkerque: Gilles Peterson's party 'could be excellent'
24.02.2010
People taking ferries to Dunkerque can also attend a unique festival that offers music lovers the opportunity to discover some eclectic melodies in a gorgeous setting, according to the Guardian. The newspaper placed Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival in its "top ten music events to try this summer" and people choosing ferries to Dunkerque will be closer to the venue of the festival once they anchor. "The man with the world's best record collection brings a globe-spanning mix of old faves and new stars to the chilled-out French resort of Sète, culminating in a mammoth 16-hours beach party," the newspaper stated.
Big-name stars such as Gil Scott Heron will rub shoulders with up and coming names, like Mad Decent head honcho Diplo who will bring his street party vibes to the turntables.
Another music event which ferry passengers can enjoy is Transmusicales, which takes place in Rennes each year and has brought French acts like Niagara and Dominique A to a wider audience in the past.
