French racing meet on the way

Lovers of all things equestrian will find the perfect event for them in France later this year.Those taking a ferry trip across the Channel between September 7th and 13th will be in for a treat as La Grande Semaine Pompadour takes place.
With the UK in the middle of the flat racing season, Brits keen to see some fantastic fillies show off their jumping ability will find just what they are looking for at the Haras National de Pompadour.
This renowned annual meet sees some of the finest Anglo-Arab horses take to the course in what is one of the country"s top racing spectacles of the year.
For the 2009 event, numerous auctions and presentations are planned, as well as races for two, three, four and five-year-olds and dressage competitions.
While in France this September, visitors may also want to take a trip to the Horse, Donkey and Pony fair, which is found at La Prevalaye and is free for attendees who wish to view the mares on show.
