Horse championships on the way in France
25.08.2009
Those that agree with the saying that horse racing is the sport of kings will find plenty to keep them happy in France this year.Numerous equestrian events are taking place across the Channel between now and the end of the year, with one such attraction being the World Arabian Horse Championship.
Held in December, those making the short ferry trip to France will be able to see the very best of this breed show exactly what they are made of, before a winner is crowned based on factors such as charisma and personality.
Elsewhere, the Night of the Horse also takes place in December and focuses on elements such as trick riding.
Those looking for something where they are able to see thoroughbreds compete against each other in a more traditional setting may instead want to visit France next month.
On October 4th and 5th the Prix de l"Arc de Triomphe is held, in what is the key date in the French flat racing calendar.
