With the school holidays fast approaching every parent is left facing the question of how they will keep their little ones entertained for weeks on end.A ferry trip to France could be the best possible start, as the country is jam-packed full of events and activities which will keep youngsters amused.
Those looking to beat the school holiday rush and head out on a last-minute break can enchant their children with a trip to the Festival du Conte.
The event sees five days devoted to fairytales and story-telling, with Saint Michel welcoming a raft of speakers between June 16th and 20th to read their favourite works to a captivated audience.
If you have given yourself a little longer until you set sail on a ferry trip to France, perhaps a stop-off in Normandy will go down well with the little ones.
Here they can see history come alive during Vikings in Normandy, which involves demonstrations and re-enactments of how life was centuries ago.
If history is not there forte, a trip to the Pig Festival in Trie-sur-Baise is a guaranteed way to keep the kids happy, as they will have to chance to see the cute, pink animals up-close and personal.
