Showjumping event nears

Fans of all things equestrian may consider taking a ferry trip to France this month as a major annual event gets underway.

The Salon du Cheval de Paris begins on December 6th and runs until the 14th.

Among the activities on show for horse enthusiasts are daily presentation shows, in which numerous breeds will also be present.

Those feeling particularly flush can even buy an animal at the event, with France Ponies and Small Horses putting on a private sale.

As well as purchasing horses, visitors can see the thoroughbreds in action as the prestigious world Arabian Horse Championships take place between December 12th and 14th.

The showjumping showcase will see 120 competitors vying to take the top prize.

Meanwhile, sports fans may wish to stay in the area after the event, as later in December Paris will host an all-star basketball game which will see the country"s finest come up against top players from around the world.
