Weddings take place any time of the year
27.01.2010
People taking ferries to France to attend weddings could visit the country at any time of year, according to one expert, who said that couples are no longer confining to getting married during the traditional period of the year. Cathy Howes, deputy editor of "You and Your Wedding" magazine, said that the May to September period is no longer the most common time for loved ones to tie the knot."According to brides polled on our website, the most popular date last year was the second Saturday in September – but we are finding that couples are becoming more flexible about seasons. They are not so fixated on the June marquee wedding," she stated. The expert added that Friday is becoming a more popular day for a wedding and could compete with Saturday as a wedding day.
January is the least popular time of the year to get married in the UK, with the first two weekends of the month being a virtually wedding-free zone, according to Ecclesiastical.
