Wine events coming in France
17.07.2009
Brits with a passion for wine will want to hop on the ferry to france this summer to visit some of the country"s numerous celebrations devoted to beautiful beverages. One such gathering is the Madiran Wine Festival in August, which sees locals and tourist join together to sup the last of the fantastic drinks produced in the region before a new harvest begins.
As well as an abundance of red wine, visitors will also be entertained with dance and music, ensuring that this is a ferry break in France to remember - or not, depending how much of the local beverages you consume.
Another event which will have Brits flocking across the Channel is the Auvergne Cheese and Wine Fair, which is held in July in Besse.
Meanwhile, those eager to taste French food rather than drinks will want to travel to Morteau on August 22nd and 23rd, when the region"s Sausage Festival takes place.
Attendees will be able to sample delicious, locally produced bangers while parades line the streets.
