Brits 'planning ahead for breaks'

People are more likely to plan ahead when it comes to looking for the perfect trip abroad during the credit crunch, it has been suggested.Sian Williams, UK country manager for price comparison website trivago, commented consumers are enquiring about breaks well before the start of the holiday season.
Ms Williams said: "People are looking to find the best rates for their holiday and people really seem to be trying to plan ahead and compare all the offers."
She went on to say cheaper destinations are also enjoying a boom during the economic downturn, which may include those looking into breaks to France, anyone interested in a cross-Channel ferry trip may be interested to learn.
According to a recent trivago survey, 35 per cent of Brits said they would plan ahead and compare prices when it comes to looking for a holiday this year, compared to 31 per cent of Germans and 14 per cent of Spaniards.
