Cheap chat for Brits abroad
15.05.2009
Travellers heading on the ferry to france this summer will be able to tell those back home all about the highlights of their trip without being hit in the pocket.Vodafone yesterday (May 14th) confirmed that between June 1st and the end of August, Brits abroad will be charged the same amount for texts and calls while they are away as they would be in the UK.
Ian Shepherd, consumer director for the company, says that he is "really excited" at the changes.
He states: "Both our consumer customers and business customers can take advantage of this."
The changes mean that Brits need not wait until they get home to tell their loved ones all about their getaway break.
Because of this, those heading to France will be able to fill the family in about trips to major sporting events such as the French Moto GP, the Great Paris Steeplechase, the Tour de France and the French Open.
With all of these top attractions coming in the next few months consumers have plenty of reasons to book a ferry trip to France.
Meanwhile, there is also a wealth of activities for those who do not have a passion for sport, with the Cannes Film festival, Art Rock and the Sand Sculpture Festival all held this month.
