Cross channel ferry users 'love a bargain'
17.03.2010
British holidaymakers using cross channel ferries like to take vacations in countries which offer good value for money, according to one expert, who said they are getting better at finding good deals.Travel expert Bob Atkinson said that over the last couple of years there have been better deals available to UK-based holidaymakers who want to make their money go further.
"If there is something that Brits loves more than anything else it"s the concept that they"ve got themselves a bargain or a deal," he said.
Mr Atkinson added that when Brits go on city breaks they are less likely to spend money on expensive hotels because they will be spending little time in them.
The travel expert recently said that the proposed British Airway strikes would be frustrating for passengers and suggested people may be tempted to travel to France by alternative means, such as a ferry.
