Ferries to France can be part of eco-friendly trip
23.02.2010
People taking ferries to france could be helping to reduce their impact on the environment, according to one expert, who said that travellers should always seek to use eco-friendly forms of transport. The Guardian"s John Vidal said that things have changed since the days when he would get trains around Europe and he believes many locations have become snowed under by tourists.
"It [green travel] asks you to pack your brain as well as your swimsuit and to assess and then act on the impact of your visit ... the golden rule must be that if our actions hurt in one way, then we should compensate in another," he stated.
The expert added that flying can be justified as a form of transport but should not be used too much, which could interest people considering using ferries to France.
Once eco-friendly homeowners have taken a ferry to france they could visit the Provence region where around half of the world"s rose wine is made.
