Cross channel ferries: Foreign weddings can become a reality
08.02.2010
People taking cross channel ferries can turn their wedding day into a long holiday, according to one newspaper, which said that the process can be easier than some couples think. The Daily Mail reported on the trend for people to tie the knot on foreign soil and stated that it is not surprising that so many couples are going abroad because of the pressure heaped on them when organising a British wedding.
""Planning a wedding has to be high on anyone"s list of stress-inducing experiences ... wedding coordinators in the UK and at your destination will be there to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible," it reported.
The newspaper added that having a wedding abroad is a great way to combine the special day with a honeymoon or extended holiday.
January is the least popular time of the year to get married in the UK, with the first two weekends of the month being a virtually wedding-free zone, according to Ecclesiastical.
