People taking ferries to france will be near to a Flemish town which is well known for its beer and laidback approach, according to one website.VisitFlanders.co.uk stated that Leuven is a town that is well worth visiting and can often be overlooked in favour its neighbour Brussels.
"Leuven is home to Belgium"s oldest university. As a result, roughly half of the city"s 90,000 inhabitants are students, who give the city a lively, informal air - and help sustain the many bars and cafes," it stated.
The website also listed its top five things to do while in the town, including visiting St Gertrude"s Church and Abbey, taking in the Domus brewery and of course having a pint of Stella in the drink"s hometown.
In other Flanders news, the Sunday Times recently named the World War One museum in Ypres in its top ten list of European museums and said it uses technology to provide a unique experience.
