Ferry trips to France: Flanders is winter wonderland

People taking ferries to Dunkerque over the Christmas period should continue their trip into Belgium, according to one organisation which said that Flanders offers a host of attractions for holidaymakers this December.Dawn Page, UK director of Tourism Flanders-Brussels, said that cities such as Bruges and Brussels offer attractions like ice rinks and sculpture festivals for visitors to enjoy.
She said: "The Christmas markets in Flanders have always represented the best of festive food, culture and entertainment and are becoming increasingly popular with British visitors."
The tourism expert added that Ghent will also have a fireworks display on New Year"s Eve and Ms Page said the region really does have something for everyone this winter.
Flanders is a region which has plenty of activities nearby as well as beautiful medieval architecture, according to Reuters which said that Ghent in particular has lots of cultural treats for visitors to enjoy.
