Chamonix is not just a winter hotspot for skiers and has a lot to offer in the summer too, stated advice website TravelBite. The area, which can be reached by a ferry to france, is an action-packed destination in the warmer months, offering a range of activities.
According to the website, the area is good for active families, who can sample hiking, biking and rafting.
One factor which stays in the region from the winter months is the beautiful scenery, which is set against the backdrop of Mont Blanc.
La Ginabelle, in the centre of Chamonix, is a good area to explore after getting a ferry to France and has the Montenvers train and the Aguille du Midi cable car nearby.
Other areas of France which may interest families or teenagers heading off on their travels alone include Vendée, which has great and clean beaches.
Normandy has also recently been recommended by the website for people who have got a ferry to France, with the news provider saying the region has something to appeal to both genders.
