'Good deals' for French property
23.12.2008
Some Britons are taking advantage of "very good deals" in the French real estate market, it has been claimed. While many are waiting to see how the industry is affected by the credit crunch, others are swooping for cut-price properties, one expert has asserted.
Brice Bonato, managing director of Sextant French Property Agents, commented that 2009 is set to be an interesting year for the sector.
He said areas such as Brittany are particularly popular with expats, while many people are also moving to Aquitaine, Languedoc and Normandy.
Mr Bonato added a combination of new builds, falling interest rates and price reductions mean next year will represent a time for those interested in buying property abroad to keep an eye on developments.
In related news, earlier this month a study by real estate business portal Globaledge found France was among the most searched for destinations in September for those considering moving overseas.
