Skiers urged not to be condition snobs
01.03.2010
People should make sure they are not a snob when it comes to snow conditions after getting the cross channel ferry to their break in France.Michael Standen, who is blogging about his ski season in the Alps for travelbite.co.uk, said that he has become a snob when it comes to conditions.
The skier and snowboarder said that a recent trip to Espace Killysaw him sit out as the pistes were icy and the wind was "howling".
"If the conditions aren"t perfect, or just a little bit too cold, windy, icy, then that"s it, Ill sit this one out," he added, despite admitting that most holidaymakers would love the conditions.
However, Mr Standen said that he has now resolved to make every day count, as there is not much of his season left - advice which those getting a cross channel ferry should heed.
People getting a cross channel ferry should also try other snowsports while they are on the slopes, including snowshoeing and ice climbing, which were recently recommended by the Times.
